Current Issue
The United States spends less on groceries per household than any other country in the world at about 6.9 percent in 2008, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service. In comparison, consumers in the United Kingdom spend 8.6 percent, Canadians, 9.2 percent and consumers in Pakistan 45.7 percent of their income on food.

Segment 1: Feeding a Growing World Population
This segment features a lead story on U.S. soybean farmers' role in helping to feed the growing world population and the checkoff's partnership with the World Food Prize. It also features a panel discussion on the challenges and benefits of biotechonology and a tribute to the late Nobel laureate, Norman Borlaug, PhD. 

Segment 2: Soybean Industry Callenges and the Connection Between Animal Ag and Soybeans 
This segment includes an overview of priority issues and the direction of the U.S. soybean industry as discussed by United Soybean Board farmer-leaders at the Board’s Annual Meeting in December 2009. Also included is an interview with National Pork Board President, and pork producer and soybean farmer, Tim Bierman on the connection between animal agriculture and soybeans.

Segment 3: Fighting SCN and New USB Web Tools
This segment takes a look at checkoff-funded soybean cyst nematode (SCN) research that established standards for determining the accuracy of SCN resistance claims. It also features an overview of the new Expert Advice Web feature on www.unitedsoybean.org.

Segment 4: The Miracle Bean and A New Use for Soy
This segment provides a sneak peak at a soybean-focused story on public TV's "America's Heartland" and a look at a state soybean organization's award-winning efforts to bring soy-based toner for printers to the market.
